Meet Ms.Kun
Hello, I’m Miss Kun, I teach 3D projects in Art Tent Studio. I graduated from the University of Hawaii in Manoa with a BA degree in Studio Art. I mainly focus on drawing and have also taken various studio classes, including ceramics, photography, gallery design and installation, small-scale jewelry and more.
My Story
Before joining Art Tent Studio, I apprenticed under an experienced fine woodworker for two years, where I learned the intricacies of custom design and craftsmanship. Later, I spent five years working as a full-time assistant for a skilled welder, crafting bespoke pieces tailored to our clients’ needs. With the skills I learned and access to a woodshop and welding shop, I was able to design and make my own furniture with wood and metal.
I have a deep appreciation for the natural world. I’m from a little town surrounded by three major rivers in Canton, China. Growing up immersed in nature, outdoor activities fulfilled my childhood. I moved to Hawaii in 2004. I fell in love with my second hometown right away! In my spare time, you can find me exploring the scenic landscapes of Hawaii, capturing moments with my iPhone or enjoying my hiking adventures. It was during one of these hikes that I first crossed paths with Ms. Zoe. I’m excited to continue sharing my passion for art with the students at Art Tent Studio and to inspire the young artist to unleash their creative potential with Ms. Zoe.
